Paladin seeks to invest in companies that have maintained the industry’s dominant market position and demonstrated strong financial performance over many years or decades. These companies have typically achieved this as a result of deep & sustainable competitive advantages despite concerted competitive efforts. We focus our due diligence efforts on proving the existence and strength of a company’s true competitive advantages. Specifically, we look for evidence of the following competitive advantages: intangible assets, switching costs, network effects, cost advantages, and efficient scale.
Paladin seeks to invest in companies with dominant global market positions within their industrial technology niches. These companies typically hold the #1 or #2 market position globally or have strong potential to achieve this market position within our ownership period.
Paladin seeks to invest in companies with the potential to achieve significant global sales growth and/or the opportunity to reconfigure its manufacturing, procurement and supply chains operations for greater efficiency. Paladin’s investment team and senior advisor network have extensive experience advising management teams on global sales & marketing growth strategies (including new product development and geographic expansion), executing and integrating global M&A, optimizing complex global manufacturing, procurement, and supply chains and pioneering the use of lean management and cutting-edge digital technology to automate and modernize operations for maximum efficiency, quality, innovation and safe operations.
Paladin targets companies with up to US$40 million in EBITDA.
Paladin invests in manufacturers of highly engineered products or providers of technology-enabled business services.
